voice and diction

Can there ever be enough written about voice and diction? I say emphatically, “NO!” So often in casual conversation I hear things out of people’s mouths that sound like English but are garbled or as I like to call it, mushy. Now, I totally understand about a lazy mouth when it comes to speaking, we are all guilty of at some time or another but think about it. If we would all really appreciate the gift of speech we would make an effort to speak more clearly all the time. All regional accents set aside, I believe that modern technology is stealing our ability to speak to one another. Texting all the time truncates the language into phrases and barely recongnizable words…less text and more talk I say! Listen to your diction and appreciate the gift you have been given. All commments welcome.
